Does research support the growth in acupuncture use?

A research letter in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) provided early findings from the most recent survey (2022) on the use of complementary health approaches.
The survey revealed:

The use of acupuncture increased from 1% of adults in 2002 to 1.5% in 2012 to 2.2% in 2022. That equates to over 7.3 million adult patients.

The use of acupuncture for pain management also increased, from approximately 55% in 2002 to 72% in 2022.

Healthcare continues evolving to less-invasive, natural, and drug-free methods, placing acupuncture as a first-line complementary healthcare choice.

And remember, the American Acupuncture Council Network is the expert with over 3 decades of experience dealing with a wide range of acupuncture billing issues.
