2024 updates to the ICD10 coding are available and will affect all claims with dates of service October 1, 2023. Yes, the 2024 diagnosis changes occur in 2023. Note the updated diagnosis is specific to the date of service and not the date the claim is billed. If you have a claim with a deleted diagnosis but the date of service is before October 1 you would use the prior code and then for dates of service after the new or updated diagnosis.
2024 brings the following updates to ICD10.
There will now be 73,674 codes, with 395 additions and 25 deletions.
The most likely to be utilized in your practice are additional codes for Chronic Migraines.
